Injector pigtail lead lengths: EV1 and EV6 / EV14 (USCAR)

When the injector connector does not match your harness, a pigtail lead lets you wire in the right plug. Length matters for where your splice ends up.

Fitting a pigtail lead

  1. Identify the plug on each side. Identify the connector on your harness and on your injector (EV1 / Jetronic or USCAR). See the connector guide.
  2. Choose the matching lead. Pick the pigtail for the connector you need to add: EV1 lead or EV6 / EV14 (USCAR) lead. Both of ours are 4.25 in long.
  3. Plan the splice. Allow for the 4.25 in lead length when you plan where the splice will sit, so it is away from heat and moving parts.
  4. Join, seal and test. Make a secure, sealed joint on each wire, then plug in and check the injector operates before final assembly. If you are unsure, have a professional do the wiring.

Not sure which plug you have? Read EV1 vs EV6 (USCAR) connectors or the injectortool connector guide.

FAQ

How long are your injector pigtail leads?

Our EV6 / EV14 (USCAR) pigtail leads and our EV1 leads are 4.25 in long.

How much are they?

Adapter or pigtail?

Plug-in adapters avoid cutting a factory harness; hard-wiring a new pigtail is usually the more durable choice in high-vibration use. Identify both connectors first.
